How daycare ABA therapy works

Same daycare, same friends, a little extra help

Daycare ABA therapy means your child’s Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) joins them at daycare or preschool. They sit next to your child at circle time, help out at the snack table and head outside with them for recess. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) writes your child’s plan and keeps an eye on how it’s going.

Your child keeps their cubby, their teacher and their favorite friend from the block corner. They just have someone with them who knows exactly what they’re working on.

Benefits of ABA therapy at daycare

Why the sandbox makes a great classroom

There are kids everywhere
Sharing the shovel, waiting for the slide and saying hi to a friend are tough to practice at home. At daycare, those moments happen all day long.
Sessions happen while your child is already at daycare, so your workday stays the same.
Classroom routines get easier.
Lining up, cleaning up and sitting for a story all become part of the plan.
Teachers get some tips too
With the daycare’s permission, your child’s team shares what’s working, so teachers can use the same strategies all day.
What daycare ABA therapy works on

From sharing the blocks to zipping up a coat

Your child’s BCBA builds goals around your child. At daycare, that might mean:

Early intervention ABA at daycare

Made for little ones ages 2 to 6

Toddlers and preschoolers learn fast, and daycare gives them lots of chances to practice. Starting ABA early also gives your child a head start on kindergarten. Our early intervention specialists work with little ones every day, and they love it.

Lots of daycares do, but it’s up to each one. We’ll help you talk with the director and answer any questions they have.

It depends on your plan. Some cover sessions outside the home and some have limits, so we check before therapy starts.

Yes. Some families do both. Your BCBA will recommend what works best for your child.

Your child’s RBT joins in with regular daycare activities, so to most kids, it just looks like an extra grown-up who’s fun to play with.

Daycare ABA is usually for kids ages 2 to 6. If your child is younger or older, call us and we’ll talk about the best fit.

Most insurance plans need one before ABA can start. If your child hasn’t been evaluated yet, we offer autism assessments.
